The plan is to drive to Ulaan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia to raise money for charity, and to have a bit of an adventure along the way.

The drive will be about 10,000 miles, across varied terrain, although once leaving Europe it will generally be inhospitable.

We are hoping to raise well in excess of £1000 for charities, and once (if) we arrive in Ulaan Baatar we will be donating the car (or what is left of it) so that it can be auctioned for charity.

To add to the challenge, we will not be taking a specialist off-road vehicle, nor any sort of vehicle you might trust to navigate you 1/3 of the way around the world over non-existent roads.

The vehicle of choice is now a Ford Escort 1.3, see more on the Vehicle page.
